Lacking that extra dosage of excitement and breath in your daily routine? Fret not, True Believers, your favorite Marvel super heroes are near! “The Super Hero Squad Show” will be airing on the Hub Television network every weekday beginning Monday, January 30 at 4 p.m. ET!
To celebrate the occasion, we're providing you with some factoids from the show's production, so let's see what you know!
Did You Know? The series pilot paid homage to FANTASTIC FOUR Vol. 1 #1, Marvel’s first Silver Age comic, where Mole Man filled the villain role. Even cameos of the Fantastic Four and a title card riff on the FANTASTIC FOUR Vol. 1 #1 cover were used.
Many familiar names and faces were included in the pilot, from classic Jack Kirby monsters such as Fin Fang Foom, to the legendary Stan Lee, who played Mayor of all super heroes in the series. Voice actor Tom Kenny even improvised some of his Iron Man dialogue, throwing in a “What the Don Heck?” at times--Heck is the co-creator of Iron Man.
Did You Know? Kenny's versatility enabled him to voice five Marvel characters in the first season, including Iron Man, Captain America, M.O.D.O.K., Colossus and Juggernaut.
Did You Also Know? In Episode 120, “Election of Evil,” we put Lee into Iron Man’s getup, using the armor from Iron Man's first-ever appearance in TALES OF SUSPENSE #39, plotted by Lee himself in 1963.
Did You Know? The Fantastic Four played a larger role in Episode 112, “If This Be My Thanos.” Tara Strong ("Fairly Oddparents" and "Ben 10"), voice of Invisible Woman, was asked to give H.E.R.B.I.E. her best shot.
Strong's performance was so impressive that Marvel CCO Joe Quesada fell in love with her character and asked that H.E.R.B.I.E. join the regular cast in Season Two!
Did You Know? Character Designer and Supervising Director Mitch Schauer contributed to the designs of most of the 105 Marvel characters seen in Season One!
During Episode 123, "Wrath of the Red Skull," Schauer hand draws a true Jack Kirby-style montage, inspired by Kirby's run on Captain America.
Did You Know? In Episode 103, "Hulk Talk Smack," we were fortunate enough to have Jennifer Morrison ("House" and "Once Upon A Time") show off her vocal talents as Wasp.
Morrison even helped us cast the villain she battles against, Screaming Mimi. We needed someone who could legitimately pull off Screaming Mimi’s scream; thus Morrison’s sister, Julia, came into the picture. She was trained as an opera singer and could do the scream herself, so the sisters had a blast playing off one another in the booth.

Beginning Monday, January 30, you can catch "The Super Hero Squad Show" every weekday at 4:00 p.m. ET on The Hub Television network, and with it comes a daily dose of some of the most nefarious baddies in VillainVille!
Before you relive all the Squaddies' adventures on the Hub, we've got the full run down on the series' biggest villains from Doctor Doom to M.O.D.O.K. to the Juggernaut, right here on Marvel.com!
Doctor Doom The biggest baddie of them all, Doom is dark, menacing and extremely dangerous. A megalomaniac with a towering intellect and total mastery of the sciences, Doom's sinister plans for world domination start with the conquest of Super Hero City and the elimination of the Super Hero Squad.
He is the unquestioned ruler of VillainVille, and thus has access to some of the vilest villains in the Marvel Universe. But whoever's talent he may employ, they are always very aware that Doctor Doom is in complete control. Those who try to cross him usually don't survive to tell about it.
M.O.D.O.K. A “living computer,” M.O.D.O.K. is basically a giant flying head with tiny arms and legs. He has a superhuman intellect and psionic abilities.
He is also cranky, ill tempered, and has a massive ego, constantly scheming to usurp Doctor Doom's power to achieve world domination.
Doom is aware that M.O.D.O.K. is plotting against him, but doesn’t seem the least bit worried. This infuriates M.O.D.O.K. He moves about on a flying hover-chair outfitted with a variety of weapons, which runs on a miniature nuclear reactor...and a pair of AA batteries.
Mole Man A squintly little cave-dweller who commands evil tech second only to Doom, an array of subterranean Lava Monsters from deep within the Earth’s mantle, and an army of Mole-People.
He’s blown the doors off of many a hideout with his near-continuous breaking of wind, which has turned hero and villain alike from his company.
Loki He’s a wild-eyed trickster god who’s allied himself with Doom only to torque off his brother, Thor.
Also the son of Odin, this spurned brother is nutty as a candy bar and Asgardian-powerful. He can manipulate energy at the Silver Surfer’s level and if Doom actually managed to transform the universe, even destroy Asgard, Loki would just laugh.
Enchantress The Asgardian sorceress prefers to enslave her foes through, duh, enchantment. She also has the ability to transform people and objects, packs a walloping mystical force blast and can produce magical items with a wave of her hand.

With the premiere of "The Super Hero Squad Show" on The Hub Monday, January 30th at 4 p.m. ET, series Supervising Producer and VP of Animation Development and Production Cort Lane sat down with Marvel.com to share his top five episodes of Season 1!
#1) Episode 104 – "To Err is Superhuman" "This is one of my favorite episodes, because it’s the first appearance of Reptil, a character I was honored to co-create with Humberto Ramos and Joe Quesada," recounts Lane. "Getting to work on the creation of a Marvel hero has been a dream of mine since the age of 10. The animation on this episode was exactly where I wanted it to be, and that made me love it all the more."
#2) Episode 110 – "This Forest Green" "This is one of the funniest episodes of Season 1," says Lane. "When else do Marvel heroes get to go on an adventure inside Hulk’s nose? And the title is just brilliant."
#3) Episode 115 – "Mental Organism Designed Only for Kisses!" "This one has a magically-induced romance between M.O.D.O.K. and Ms. Marvel," Lane explains. "I knew it would be phenomenal when we started to break the script. The voice actors who play M.O.D.O.K. (Tom Kenny) and Ms. Marvel (Grey DeLisle) are the best in the business and good friends, so they are amazing at playing off of each other in the booth. This is a case of writing an episode to suit your amazing talent, and we even encouraged them to improvise some of their performance. Together, M.O.D.O.K. and Ms. Marvel are hilarious!"
#4) Episode 120 – "Election of Evil!" "Stan Lee asked for an episode that prominently featured his character, the Mayor of Super Hero City," remembers Lane. "By this point in production, we realized he is an amazing voice actor and such a ham, so we thought it was an awesome idea. And I am always a little star-struck (still!) by Stan, so the recording session was a thrill."
#5) Episode 125 – "Last Exit Before Doomsday" "This episode was epic since it featured the introduction of Galactus," Lane elaborates. "We needed a celebrity with a deep voice who had sci-fi credentials, and George Takei ("Star Trek") was the first person who came to mind. And he said yes! We were shocked and very excited that we actually got him. He flew in from New York for the part and was so much fun in the booth that we brought him back in for Season 2. And I am a huge fan of Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Suburgatory"), so it was great having her play the part of Stardust for the episode."
